, including societal, psychological, and biological factors that influence how we live. It delves into the complexities of modern life, addressing issues such as technology’s impact, mental health, and social dynamics. The content emphasizes understanding the interconnectedness of various life aspects to navigate the challenges of contemporary society.

My take

The impact of technology and its advancements really affect humans and our societal norms. In each turn of the tech, we end up either being sorry for what we've done or really advancing in our collective knowledge and improve everyone's lives. I've been in tech for the past 30+ years and this recent interaction with GenAI is amazing and I honestly believe it's going to change everything. It already started and we have the chance to scope it and make it the best we had in tech. Will that improve the complex interplay of social interactions? Maybe. Will that play a role in genetics and biology? Definitely! But would not makes us help better our human existence.

This article on Shapr3D’s website discusses the history of Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC)

, highlighting its significant contributions to the CAD industry. Founded in 1985, PTC revolutionized CAD software by introducing parametric, feature-based, solid modeling, which significantly improved design efficiency and flexibility. The company’s flagship product, Pro/ENGINEER (now Creo), set new standards in the industry and paved the way for future advancements in CAD technology.

My take

I started working in CAD (Autodesk 11) when I was a kid, on my father's 386 that got an upgrade to deal with the 'complexity' of work. We got a mathematical co-processor and that improved severely the speed of by which we would work with Autocad. I remember how PTC shaped CAD, especially with the solid modelling and if back then we would have to use several products, now the market shrunk and it's just the almighty Autodesk.

The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority , examines the competitive dynamics of the public cloud services market in the UK.

It includes analysis on market demand, customer purchasing behaviours, major cloud service providers, and emerging trends such as multi-cloud usage and AI integration. The paper identifies barriers to market entry and expansion, assesses market shares, and discusses profitability. It highlights the importance of price, innovation, service reliability, and customer support in driving competition among providers like AWS, Microsoft, and Google.

My take

I've already talked about this previously here on LinkedIn, in particular with Cloud Exit Strategies. But I believe that the future will be even worse, as AI integration is here and it soon will become a critical competitive factor. The hyperscallers will enhance their offerings constantly to support all the AI developments and deployments of LLM's, but I'm not sure if that will be in a competitive way - as we've seen with Microsoft and OpenAI deals.

, such as recommending adding glue to pizza. The issues stem from the AI’s reliance on large language models, which can produce fluent but inaccurate results by drawing from incorrect or irrelevant sources. Despite Google’s efforts to improve the system, including better detection mechanisms and content restrictions, the inherent limitations of AI models mean that such errors are likely to persist.

My take

Google's in a pickle! With their latest leaks regarding SEO and how the Search works, then killing products that people like and finally, thier GenAI journey isn't being the best of examples. They were the first in this with DeepMind, but they struggle with the GenAI products they've been launching, now with this AI along search that hallucinates a lot and creates some shocking and absurd answers to questions that are straightforward. Is like they've built a product to mess up with people, like a repetitive 1st of April...

Selling Ghost in the Shell from Animation Obsessive explores the marketing and commercial strategies behind the iconic anime film “Ghost in the Shell.”

It discusses how the film was positioned in the market, the challenges faced, and the impact of its unique cyberpunk aesthetic and philosophical themes on its promotional efforts.

My take

We couldn't end this edition without proper nostalgia, couldn't we? This time is Ghost in the Shell which was and still is one of my favourite Anime movies! Not the recent remake, but the original one. This article explains the journey and why the money was created. Brilliant, detailed article to end the week with. In 2026 we'll have another return!
